Strengthen Your Mental Capacities With Hope

I hope you read this post to the end.

Oh, I hope I get to see the Grand Canyon.

Hope I win the lottery tonight.

I hope she doesn’t hate me.

I hope I can stick to this diet.

We channel our deepest desires in the hope offering. Uttering our hopes both private and in public without thinking and saying it under our breathes in silent prayers to God or the Universe.


Are you somewhere out there hoping that a certain thing will work out in your life? It is not a guarantee that everything will go according to our plans. In our journey in hope until the actual outcome, we strengthen our mental capacities.

Hope is a feeling of expecting and desiring for something to happen. In Bible terms, There is power behind hope. It fills us up with the courage to get through another day, because we put our trust in God. In a scientific study dealing with the correlation between mental health and hope, it showed the following results.

  1. Hope allows us to cope with the rigors of life
  2. It improves overall well-being
  3. Assists in suicide prevention
  4. Encourages healthy behaviors
  5. Moderates depression and other negative life events

Turn to the Bible for further readings in hope

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Romans 12: 12 – “Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.”

Romans 8:24-25 – “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”

Psalm 16:9 -“Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope.”

Romans 15: 13 – “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”


How can you root yourself in hope? Write the following in your journal and look for ways you can seek hope.

Make a list of your successes and strengths.

Take an inventory of the people that surround you. What type of energy is exchanged? Sometimes it can be as easy as looking at your social feed.

In what ways can you take better care of yourself?

Find inspiring quotes that will lift you each day.

Lastly, remember to trust yourself.
